Wexford shoes are made in Agra by artisans who learned the craft from the men before them. Some have been lasting shoes for over twenty years. That experience is the reason a Wexford holds its shape long after cheaper shoes have collapsed.
Wexford shoes buy full-grain leather and reject more of it than we use. No corrected grain, no plastic coating to hide the flaws. It scuffs, it creases, it picks up a patina — which is exactly what good leather is supposed to do.
Goodyear welting stitches the upper, welt and insole together so the sole can be taken off and a new one put on. Look after the leather and one pair can outlast five pairs of glued shoes.
For cold mornings and long days.
Punched detail, plenty of character.
Pull on, walk out.
No laces. Slip in and leave.
Buckles instead of laces. Quietly showy.
Closed lacing. For the days that matter.
